Terms of service
Last updated November 7, 2026
Other policies: Terms of service · Privacy policy · Seller agreement · Prohibited items · Purchase protection
These terms are an agreement between you and The Makeistry Studio (“we”) about using The Makeistry (makeistry.studio). By creating an account or buying something, you agree to them. Makers also agree to the seller agreement.
What we are
The Makeistry is a marketplace. Independent makers list and sell their own work; we run the site, take payments on their behalf, and pay them out. The maker is the seller of each item and is responsible for it.
Your account
- You must be at least 18, or use the site with a parent or guardian.
- Keep your login safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account. Turn on two-factor login.
- Give accurate information, including your shipping address.
Buying
Prices, shipping and any discounts are shown before you pay. Your order is a contract with each maker you buy from. If something goes wrong, see purchase protection.
Things you must not do
- List or buy anything on the prohibited items list.
- Harass anyone, post false reviews, or ask to be paid outside The Makeistry.
- Pay with a card or account that isn't yours, or buy from your own shop.
- Break the law, infringe others' rights, or interfere with the site (scraping, attacks, fake accounts).
Content you post
You keep ownership of your photos, listings, reviews and messages. You let us display and use them to run and promote the marketplace. You confirm you have the right to post them.
Reports and enforcement
Anyone can report a listing, shop, review or message. We may remove content, suspend shops or close accounts that break these terms, and we may hold payouts while we look into a problem.
Fraud prevention
To protect buyers and makers, we screen orders for signs of fraud with automated checks and, for some orders, an automated review by an AI service. We may cancel and refund orders we believe are fraudulent, and suspend the accounts involved. These checks reduce fraud but can't catch all of it. For makers, the risk of fraud on their own orders stays with them, as set out in the seller agreement.
Liability
We provide the site “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees we earned from your transactions in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes. You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Questions: joosterman@gmail.com.
